The smartest brother, although he often feels his genius goes underappreciated in the family, and also third oldest. Like a good middle brother he feels ignored by his father who often pays more attention to Leo, in training him to be a leader, Raph, to help him with his anger issues, and Mikey, to get him to pay attention to lectures. He feels that due to his brothers and their various necessities, it's better to not have any issues of his own so as to ensure his father isn't overwhelmed with work, due to this he often deals with his own stress which can make him seem very retracted
Donatello is a Mutant Western Pond Turtle, he, alongside his twin brother Raphael, has the biggest build (depending the age he may be slightly taller or slightly smaller, ending up with the same height in their 20s), while still being one of the biggest brothers he tends to make himself look smaller to avoid getting any unwanted attention. His body is dark green in color, with his plastron presenting a beige yellow with a protunding chest, he also has the small break in the right side of the upper part of his plastron, as he was the one who originally got the break with his brother following suit on a jackass moment. His shell is dark grey and is rounder than his brothers, with the schutes presenting a slight difference with Raphael's
Although his father believes Donatello to be the quietest of the turtles, his brothers know that that is a big lie, often fueling his twin brother on his impulsive decisions, teasing Mikey for being the youngest, and even making fun of Leonardo for taking the role of leader way too seriously. He doesn't like when people think he gets worse when he's paired with Raph, as he believes that they both encourage each other to get more chaotic and thinks it's unjust to give Raph all the credit. He does however tend to go quiet or completely non verbal when faced with too many overwhelming tasks.
Donatello, like his twin brother also loves purple stuff, but in a few degrees less, as he doesn't tend to get upset if his things aren't purple, he just prefers them for the aesthetic of it. He does know of Raph's quirk with his color and is the one that takes it the most seriously, even going so far as avoiding eating red foods as they are Raph's (his brother keeps insisting that it's fine, they can share, but Donnie usually leaves them to him)
He is also very shy at first meeting, but once he gets to know people he lets lose very easily.
