The second, self proclaimed, oldest, Raphael is the muscle and the shield. He tends to lose control over his temperament very easily, as much physically as he does mentally, often saying or doing things he winds up regretting. For this reason he can be very hard on himself, he tries to reserve his anger towards his enemies with various degrees of success
Raphael is a Mutant Western Pond Turtle, he is the biggest of his brothers (alongside his twin Donatello), both in height and width as this allows him to hit harder (and get hit harder). His body is dark green in colour, with his plastron being a beige yellow with a protunding chest, he presents a small break in the right side of the upper part of the plastron. His shell is dark grey and is rounder than his brothers
Raphael has a rather big attitude problem, he tends to lose control easily, he's rash and impulsive and rushes in without thinking, he can get angry and he can get violent and he hates he can't control that part of himself, especially when he suspects his family is afraid of him. He usually bottles his anger down and lets himself loose when fighting against their enemies, but Leo has warned him before that he's gonna make a mistake one day (and he will :)
All of his anger issues aside, Raph is the one with the biggest sense of morals in the team, and the one most likely to die to protect his family. He's terrified of ever hurting them, it upsets him that Leo believes his attituede endangers the family, even if he also knows he's most likely right
Raphael has a predilection for red things, be it food, video game characters, or objects in general. It embarrasses him, because he knows he can get quite upset if he doesn't get red things, his brothers know of this, and tease him all in good fun, and this has helped him accept this peculiarity of himself. His brothers often donate their red food (especially candy) to him, with fair trades of course, and April often gifts him things in his predilect color
